7 Days of Golf

Back in May we shared some of our favourite courses in the area on our social media pages as part of our 7 days of golf feature. We thought we would pop these all in a blog so you can look back and decide where you will play your next round whilst staying at Villa Castillo Nuevo. Remember, we can tailor you the perfect golf package, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us do the hard work; just pack your shorts and clubs and we will see you soon.

First up is Las Colinas Golf & Country Club. Just a few minutes down the road from Villa Castill Nuevo, this championship golf course is stunning and is highly regarded worldwide. For 3 years running Las Colinas has been awarded the title of ‘Spain’s Best Golf Course’ by World Golf Awards and is in the running again for 2018.

Next up for 7 days of golf we are sharing the fantastic Real Club de Golf Campoamor. Sitting between two valleys interconnected with each other and surrounded by small hills that protect it from wind, it enjoys a special microclimate that makes it possible to enjoy the course all year round. Only a few minutes from Villa Castillo Nuevo, it's a great choice of course for your golf trip.

Day 3 of 7 days of golf and we share with you LA FINCA GOLF & SPA RESORT. This relatively young course opened its doors in 2002 but ever since has been attracting golfers year round. Designed by renowned Spanish designer Pepe Gancedo the course offers generous fairways, immaculate greens and beautiful surroundings. The golf course also has 2 putting greens and a large driving range. Grab a bite to eat and drink after your game at their impressive clubhouse before we pick you and take you back to Villa Castillo Nuevo to relax on the rooftop solarium as the sun sets across the Costa Blanca.

Day 4 of 7 days of golf and we headed down the road to Las Ramblas Golf (Golf Quara). This imaginative and innovative course offers a welcome challenge for the golfer looking for that something extra. The course rambles through deep terrain and leafy vegetation working “remarkably well and offers a completely different test from its neighbours" (Globetrotters Golfers Guide to Spain). Hollywood even ventured to Las Ramblas where Liam Neeson filmed for Taken 3.

Day 5 of 7 days of golf and we started to day at the very popular course of Villamartin Golf (Golf Quara). Opening in 1972 it is one of the most established courses in the region and continues to attract golfers of all abilities. Described as a ‘diverse course’ it provides exciting and new challenges at every hole. There is also a pro shop, driving range, practice putting green, chipping area & bunker. Villamartin has an attractive club house with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the 18h hole where you can enjoy something to eat and drink after your game and for those who would like a few more beers head next door to Villamartin Plaza. We can pick you up from there before bringing you back to Villa Castillo Nuevo for a nightcap, ready for your next game the following day.

Day 6 of 7 days of golf and we headed 20 minutes south to Lo Romero Golf. Lo Romero is a wonderful 18 hole course which has been known as the “The golf island” since its inauguration. It offers an ideal course for all abilities yet also one of the most challenging holes on the Costa Blanca; the 18th hole which is a par 4 and played from an elevated tee which looks down onto the island green. A great way to finish of your round if you ask us.

Designed by former European Tour player Manuel Piñero, Vistabella Golf takes our final spot for 7 days of golf. One of the younger courses shared this week, Vistabella extended to a full 18 hole course earlier this year and offers an interesting round which both professionals and amateurs can equally enjoy. There are plenty of bunkers and rolling hills to challenge you and you can get a spot of practice in before hand at the driving range and putting green on site.

Our extra wildcard takes you a touch further at 30 minutes into Murcia and the Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort. Constructed around the original Hacienda which is now the attractive club house and gardens the course offers rolling fairways with water and bunker hazards to keep you on your toes.
